Parker, CO

So I was fortunate enough to travel to Colorado this last week to visit some of our dear friends, the Quigleys. They are there on a traveling nurses assignment at Parker Adventist Hospital. Needless to say, if you need to have a baby, go to Parker. They have the most beautiful Labor and Delivery unit. It would certainly be worth the 2 hour and 1 minute flight over.

While there, Bethany and I took her daughter, Claire, to the Denver Aquarium. What an amazing experience. I'm not sure who had more fun? Claire or me!! We got to see very big kitties (the tigers in the Rain Forest exhibit), a few more sharks than I care to remember, and the coolest looking fish I've EVER seen!!!

The true highlight of the day was the last exhibit: The Stingray Tank. It was an underwater petting zoo. The stingrays would swim up and splash along the side, making it very easy for anyone interested to reach down and PET THEM!! Need less to say, I wasn't interested. That all changed when the 15 month old baby girl I was holding reached her little hand down, touched the slimmy, squishy thing, and then let out the biggest giggle. I kind of had to after that.

We all had a wonderful time and the days just flew by. We look forward to future get-togethers...perhaps ones that don't include slimmy, squishy fish-like things.
